I live in Boston but I’m totally a southern girl at heart. In my opinion, it’s probably because I was born in Virginia. Naturally, I gravitated back to my home-state for college when I attended James Madison University. Being back up in Boston is a total change of pace for me. I really enjoy living up here but I do miss all the tailgates, derby races and sweet tea. {Gosh, I love the sweet tea.}

To channel my inner southern belle I decided to go to Colby Farm, a local sunflower field. Sunflowers have always been my favorite flower and my grandmother calls me crazy for it but WOW this field was beautiful. It totally re-invigorated my love for sunflowers and nature around us. Plus, it brought me back to my roots of being outside adventuring in nature. I’ve been on such a #girlboss grind with my blog that I haven’t had a second to slow down and just enjoy what is around me. I’m vowing to go back to the slower lifestyle of the South by enjoying the little things and taking the time to read, bake and enjoy a cup of tea.

It was a little chilly in the morning when we went to see the sunflowers so I grabbed my new monogrammed tunic from Marleylilly and paired it with appropriate weekend wear: ripped jeans and sneakers. I’m obsessed with how cozy this look is. It’s the perfect addition to every fall closet.
