My grandfather had skin cancer but he never stepped foot in a tanning salon. He worked out in the yard and would grill without wearing protection but never once did I see him on a beach or lathering on a tanning oil to soak up the rays. He was the smartest man I’ve ever known but he did not understand the importance of sun care & UV rays. Thankfully, we can use this story as a lesson to change our habits and better ourselves. This time around it is so important to take care of your skin by giving it the protection it needs. Being pale isn’t a bad thing – you are taking care of your skin. You are protecting yourself from UV rays, skin cancer and premature wrinkles.

I am headed to St Martin next week and I am packing tons of sun care items because it is so important! Some of my favorite sun care items are from Follain, a company born out of the need for toxic-free skincare. I love using Follain products because I know that they are both safe & effective. Follain has a very strict approval process for their products which includes utilizing ingredients that are toxic-free and tested for effectiveness with aestheticians and dermatologists. Follain stays up to date with the latest research and is continuing to add items to their restricted list. {That is major.} What I love about Follain is that you can actually check their sources to ensure that their research is up to date. As a nurse, research is so important to me and I want my beauty products to reflect that.

Sun Safety with Follain

Here are some really fun sun care items from Follain that I am loving & will be bringing to St. Martin:

Tinted Facial Moisturizer 30+ SPF Tin: This tinted facial moisturizer is perfect for vacation because it has SPF30 which is perfect for the beach. Plus, it is tinted which means that you won’t need any powder foundation. It will cover up your skin, leaving you looking dewy and fabulous. (Tip: the back of the tin says to re-apply every 2 hours)

Mineral Sunscreen Unscented SPF 30: This sunscreen is free of parabens, phthalates and many other toxic chemicals. This vegan, non-greasy and non-toxic product was made in honor of Tricia T’s mom who lost her life to skin cancer. This is amazing & something I will definitely be using all vacation.

Lip CPR SPF 30: I am a huge lipstick junkie which means that I always need to sport a bold lip at all times. The downside to my lipstick habit is that most do not have SPF in them. I found this Lip CPR with SPF 30 and I am so excited to wear it on excursions through the town of St Martin and at dinner every night.  I went with the color Fuchsia Flare.

Thank you Follain for sponsoring this post and allowing me to test out some amazing toxic-free sun care products. Sun safety is one of my favorite topics to chat about so ladies if you have any questions let me know. As always, all opinions are my own.

Love You Mean It, Liv
